Early Intervention Playgroup 0-7

We encourage pre-primary age children with a disability or developmental delay to attend this playgroup/workshop.

Groups are organised based on assessment of identified needs/goals and age. 

Each week will focus on an area of development and parents are invited to attend the groups to connect with other parents and participate in coaching and education in how to further support their child's needs and development at home. 

Focus of sessions are discussed with parents and are based on the child’s needs but may include: 

  • Turn taking and sharing
  • Listening and engaging in a pair or group
  • Developing and extending play ideas and interests
  • Interacting in play with others 
  • Developing imaginative or pretend play
  • Making friends
  • Responding to social cues
  • Joining in with play 
  • Losing and winning
  • Developing fine motor skills
  • Developing communication skills
  • Coping with frustration
  • Social skills
  • Play skills 
  • Routines 
  • Developing independence
  • Sensory development

Our playgroups are facilitated by our Early Childhood Key Worker who is a qualified and experienced teacher and play practitioner with a wealth of knowledge in the field of disability and Early childhood development.
