Early Intervention Floor Time Play

Why Play Based Learning?

Play is motivating and fun and builds on the interests of your child to develop their skills and interactions with others. Through play, your child develops the foundational skills to learn about themselves, connect with others and build their understanding about the world around them.

Although play seems natural to many, some children do not naturally develop play skills and this can impact their ability to develop language, motor skills, problem solving and social skills.

For this reason building engaging children in play can help prepare children for school  and enhance skill development leading to better outcomes later in life.

Our play practitioner will work with you and your child to tune in to their interests and skills, build their interactions with others and show you how to further their development.

Through play children develop:

  • Fine and gross motor skills
  • Language development and communication
  • Social skills and turn taking
  • Emotional regulation and connection
  • Attention span and engagement.
  • Imagination and creativity
  • Flexible thinking and problem solving
  • Sensory and bodily awareness
  • Confidence and self esteem.
  • Practise familiar routines.

Discuss your child’s goals with a qualified Play Practitioner and find out how we can support you.
